Hello world! Call me Roxy or Ro; anything's fine. Just not Ro Ro (AHEM, Shelly. ;) ). After much debating I've decided to just keep an art blog so this is it. It's probably going to include some of my boring Cali life in it, but most of it will be of the love of my life: art. I'm 15, turning 16 soon and terribly enthusiastic about improving my art. I take AP Drawing Studio in school and I take lessons with my awesome, cheery Asian art teacher. And yes, I am Asian too.
Song tastes: anything that sounds like it should be a Sucker Punch sound track ( or Tron) and musicals.

I have most of my AP portfolio and a couple of prints up there. In the two periods that I’ve gone over there I’ve seen over 5 people go up and touch the prints each time and maybe more than five take pictures. I’m kind of scared someone might post and say that the work is theirs since many of my traditional works don’t have signatures on them (they were discouraged). The signatures on two of the prints were cut off, but I have the original files with the signatures so it should be okay. Btw, you guys, I think I’ll start releasing the portfolio soon.
New piece for you guys! Finally! Back to being active again ;)
Yeah! I’m gonna be in my school art show (my teacher got a bit angry at me when I said I wasn’t going to be in it so I am now…). I decided to fix up the character design [link] up and make it look decent so I have something nice to hang up there. By the way, this is the original coloration of the character design.
YOU SUCK, PHOTOSHOP! I was working on something great Q.Q it was going to be fabulous and photoshop FREEZES IT FOR ME. THANK YOU PHOTOSHOP. YOU SUCK. So…tip for all you photoshop people out there SAVE OFTEN! All I have to say :/
So I’m gonna have more time to spend on my art now! Also, watch for my AP studio art portfolio, which I’m going to release after the grade comes out (I don’t want to release now because I’m afraid they might think I took my digital submission picture off the internet :/). So next item of business! I’m thinking of taking an art class at my community college, but I can’t decide between Introduction to Digital Art (I’m wondering if I should apply for the advanced class since I know quite a bit from myself playing around), Game Design and Architecture, and Animation. Please help/give feedback!
Question mark because I wanna let you guys reply (and NOT to make my post sound confused lol)-> ?
Edit: turns out only digital art is offered during the summer Q.Q I’m going to go talk to the teacher and see if I can weasel my way into advanced ;)
Edit 2: Apparently digital art conflicts with my physics schedule and I thought it would fit because I thought the separate time listed on the schedule was a second class but it turned out to be a lab.
As I mentioned before, AP season is right around the corner and, (HOLY COW!) I have a piano recital in one or two weeks that I am NOT prepared for (snap.). I might post a video of it up here if any of you are interested in listening. Anyway, you might wonder why I’ve been so MIA even though I’m still drawing weekly. Well, that’s because some parts of the AP Art portfolio have to be submitted online in pictures and I don’t want to post a picture there that already exists on the internet and then have my portfolio disqualified or something. If you guys stay around, I’ll be releasing 22? completed drawings after the AP portfolio is done being graded! :)
Love you guys! See ya later alligators!
Edit: 24 pieces

Finally finished/revamped the WIP Tailor I posted up, which is the first photo. The second photo is the original color and the third is a variation. I can’t decide between the two *-*. What do you guys think?
Hot damn, I forgot to take off the swatches. Oh well.
Anatomy studies and the latest doodle from my sketch! I’ve finally drawn my character Chiyeon (not Korean. He got his name because his parents couldn’t think of anything that rhymes with the name of his twin brother, Leon).
Guys! Check out http://artists.pixelovely.com/practice-tools/figure-drawing/! My AP Studio Art teacher introduced it to us and it’s basically a simulated figure drawing class. You can set the amount of time to draw each figure. I recommend 5 minutes for leisurely drawing.
Right now in AP Studio Art at school I’m required to turn in a drawing a week, which is rather pressuring for me. I’m just drawing for the sake of meeting a deadline and finishing my homework for a grade and none of my work has the creativity that it used to have. I just looked through Tumblr and Deviantart, since I hadn’t had any time to do so in a while, and remembered what it was like to be creative and new and I realized that I’m becoming too boring with just the small pool of imagination in my AP Art class (which, by the way, is not really advanced enough to do much aside from draw still life and is made up of only 14 people, all girls) to help inspire me. Don’t get me wrong, there are good ideas, but not enough. My world is becoming a box again. This needs to change. Must juntar fondos for some new art books!!!
